Meet Norman Studios.

These characters, stories and slightly ridiculous little worlds have been living in my head for a while now.

Norman actually has quite the backstory. I hope to publish his original stories someday, but because these characters have become so near and dear to my heart, I’d love to learn the skill of illustration and redraw them myself — or perhaps work alongside an illustrator.

For now, I work alongside AI to bring them to life.

And I genuinely love it. Although, as a budding art director and screenwriter (lol), what comes back doesn’t always look exactly like what was in my head. Sometimes a dog ends up with two tails.

This little hobby has given something back to me that I didn’t realise I’d lost.

When I was young, I used to doodle badly drawn comics. Somewhere along the way, I stopped. For years, I thought I simply wasn’t creative — that I wasn’t particularly skilled in that department.

Then these characters and storylines started dropping into my head, and I found myself excited by them. Tickled by them. I realised that I really enjoy making myself laugh.

I’m incredibly grateful that I now have a way to make these little worlds visible — one that I can afford, experiment with and fit into the margins of a busy life.

There’s no grand intention here.

I love these characters. I love making their stories. And I hope, every now and then, they put a smile on your face too. Even if it’s only a momentary one.

On this particular corner of the website, you’ll meet present-day Norman and friends through smaller stories: little adventures, interactions and observations about humans, animals, technology and the general weirdness of being alive.

Coming soon.
